Finishing school

I've been spending the day at finishing school. Or, to be more accurate, I've been in my sewing room trying to finish some of the myriad of projects that I have on the go. I've just ducked out for a cup of tea, and to show you a couple of the things I've finished...

First up, this bookmark is adapted from the Big Cross in Mary Konior's Tatting with Visual Patterns. I changed the stitch count of each ring and chain to make the whole thing a little smaller. Perhaps I should call it the "not so big cross" bookmark. It is tatted in Flora size 20 thread in black, and Tatskool's hand-dyed size 20 Rainbow Bright. I am thrilled with how this turned out, and hope the recipient enjoys it too.

Edited to add: the recipient (my sister) thinks that this bookmark skates the fine line between kitsch and genius. She says that it makes her smile every time she opens her book. Result!

Next up is Snowflake number 2 from Barbara Foster's Festive Snowflakes and Ornaments, tatted in size 20 Lisbeth thread. That's all for the moment - I'd better head back to the coal-face!
